I guess it’s kind of like Legends of the Hidden Temple, where you have to solve puzzles and do some physical tasks to win, except it’s nowhere near as fun. Pacific Run is a reality show that…is about…something. (The reason being plot convenience, but we’ll get there.) For some reason, she can’t cheer them on from her couch in River Heights, so all three of them are going to New Zealand to film the show. Anyway, apparently Nancy is on George’s team for this season, while Bess is going to cheer them on. Yeah, you remember how every time we called Bess and George, they were talking about Pacific Run? That was totally a thing that happened. Does anyone know what actually happens in this game? The plot of this game is just…I don’t even know. Like, I know some people enjoyed it while also acknowledging its mediocrity - which I’m not judging see also: every damn thing I review on this site - and some people straight-out hate it, but we can all agree that it’s not great, right? The plot of The Silent Spy was weird but was mostly coherent. I don’t think there’s a single person on the planet who thinks this game is good. Those are the nicest things I can find to say about it.LOL THE SHATTERED MEDALLION. One star for the appealing scenery, and one star because the game worked fine. If you’re like me and you're excited to see a new Nancy Drew game, I hate to burst your bubble… but I really wouldn’t bother with this one. Here’s hoping that this isn’t indicative of the way the franchise is heading. I was disappointed enough that I almost didn’t bother to finish and that speaks pretty poorly of a $20 game. The lack of coherent narrative made the game hard to navigate, leaving me never entirely sure what I was supposed to be doing next, and while trial and error got me through it wasn’t really worth the effort. Also missing is the creepiness that makes some of the other games so enjoyable (line Shadow at the Water’s Edge or Thornton Hall). The thin plot elements don’t fit together to make a coherent story in fact, there is almost no mystery. Sadly, this is the worst Nancy Drew game I’ve played (and I’ve played all the ones available for Windows).
